In 1954, Vincent, Joseph and Antonio Coppola arrived in the United States from their homeland of Naples Italy. Because of their limited grasp of the English language they were only able to secure menial jobs as dishwashers in restaurants up and down the east coast. However, their times as dishwashers were not in vain. Countless lessons were learned through observing some of the best chefs of the time.
      However, they were not happy or content. All three were scattered and longed to be together. They also were not satisfied as dishwashers. They settled in Dutchess County in 1956 and furthered their culinary pursuits in several of
Poughkeepsie's finest restaurants as chef helpers. Again, their apprenticeship was not in vain as they were promoted to head chefs of their respective restaurants in very little time.
